David Scheper is a metalworker, sculptor, and political activist. He was born in Baltimore in 1969 and raised in Reservoir Hill. Exploring historic buildings and abandoned industrial sites became a pastime growing up in a postindustrial city.
David began in the metalworking trades at a bronze sculpture foundry then completed a four-year apprenticeship with the Iron Workers Union, Local 16 Baltimore. As a journeyman, he worked on the Baltimore Convention Center and the Ravens Stadium. He also worked in historic Baltimore industries such as Bethlehem Steel at Sparrows Point and also on building cranes at the Port of Baltimore.
Currently, David is a member of IATSE Local 487 Studio Mechanics Union and the Screen Actors Guild, specializing in mechanical and pyrotechnical special effects.
